Coaching Philosophy and Strategy
Our quest is to support development of each individual while blending the members into a smooth functioning team unit. The results should be a “whole, greater than the sum of its parts.”
Lines of communication will be open among the Executive Director, Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Association Officers. Likewise, there will be frequent contact among coaching staff, team moms/dad, team members, and parents about important matters. Please do not approach any member of the staffing staff, before, during or immediately after a game to discuss, player’s athletic ability, critique the game, etc. Please hold these comments or concerns until the first day of practice.
Discipline is considered an intrinsic component to achieving success. Therefore, the Douglasville Lady Tigers Constitution, By-Laws, and Rules of Play will serve as guidelines for proper conduct. If necessary, penalties will be assessed for improper behavior or violations of guidelines.
Coaches will successfully apply the three rules:
- Team Work
Conflicting coaching ideas, concepts, or techniques will not be taught. All coaches will share common beliefs about the coaching of fundamental concepts, therefore providing a continuous and proper learning environment.
Because our most precious resources are involved, our youth, all coaches will be required to take and pass a background clearance. This will serve as a safety measure for each athlete and the organization.
