A Warm Welcome from the founder of Douglasville Lady Tigers Organization!

Our mission is to build the individual character of each member, to optimize both personal and team potential. A particular important part of our mission is to prepare each team member to use their talents to achieve scholarships so that they may attain a higher education.

Until recently, there were few competitive opportunities in Georgia for young ladies to participate in basketball programs sanctioned by national basketball associations, such as the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Youth Basketball Organization of America (YBOA), and the Junior Pros of America. However, the number of teams and tournaments available in the state has increased dramatically over the last seven years. We are finding that AAU and YBOA are not only highly respected by the Georgia High School Athletic Association; they are also endorsed by the Women’s Basketball Coach’s Association (WBCA).

    A Few Word About Us

The Douglasville Lady Tigers program has helped to bring much-needed national recognition to young ladies in Metro Atlanta. As a result, we feel that major colleges and universities will increase the number of full scholarships offered to young ladies from this area and that opportunities for international participation, such as the PAN-AM Games and the Olympics will expand.

Competition at this level demands skill, dedication, and commitment, from both the players and the parents.

  • History

One of Georgia’s Top Ranked Exposure Programs

The Douglasville Lady Tigers organization is one of the Top Nationally Ranked Programs in Georgia. The program has been in operation for more than 10 years in Douglas County. The Douglasville Lady Tigers operates AAU teams in various age groups to compete in the Georgia State Championships and Top Exposure events that are held in the months of April thru October. In the past 8 years, we have always had teams competing for the Championship. The Lady Tigers is characterized as a National Ranked Organization versus a local organization or neighborhood club.

A major goal of the organization is to field highly competitive teams each year that will qualify for national AAU tournaments and play at a high level in other elite national basketball tournaments. We challenge our players to be leaders both on and off the court. Our players also represent themselves, their families, their coaches and their schools with honor and integrity. The Douglasville Lady Tigers is a volunteer non-profit organization. Douglasville Lady Tigers have a well-developed college exposure history with over 30 girls who have received college scholarships. See the list of some our former players under the Alumni Players. We have never had a player come thru our program that didn’t receive a full scholarship to college!
